Won't You Be My Client?

It's hard to find an adult (even a really young one) who has not been invited to join Mr. Rogers Neighborhood at some point in their childhood.

The genial Fred Rogers began broadcasting his children's show on US public television in the late 60s, with his last episode recorded in 2001. Over 31 seasons, Mr. Rogers became a paragon of treating children with and teaching them empathy and mutual respect.

So when I came across a TikTok creator who prompted ChatGPT to utilize Mr. Rogers formula for effective communications to rewrite her marketing emails, I was very intrigued.

I did not, however, expect the results to be so next level.

Of course, I had to try it myself using my preferred platform Claude.ai.

Here's my prompt:

Use Mr. Rogers 9 rules of talking to children to craft marketing/sales content on the value of working with a business growth coach to increase profitability and expedite success.

Here's what I got back:

Are you feeling overwhelmed by the challenges of growing your business? That's perfectly normal. Many successful business owners have felt exactly the way you do right now.
Just like learning any new skill, building a thriving business takes time, patience, and often, a guiding hand. You might wonder, "Can't I figure this out on my own?" Of course you can. You're capable of great things – you've already proven that by building your business.
But consider this: every Olympic athlete, despite their incredible talent, works with a coach. Why? Because a coach brings perspective, experience, and proven strategies that can save you years of trial and error.
Every day, business owners like you, with the help of a coach, are discovering simpler ways to:
—Turn their confusion about growth into clear, actionable steps,
—Transform their time management struggles into efficient, productive days, and
—Convert their financial concerns into stable, predictable profits.
You've built something special with your business. You've put in the hard work, the long hours, and the dedication. Now it's time to take that foundation and build something even greater.
If you're ready to move from uncertainty to clarity, from planning to achieving, let's have a conversation. No pressure, no obligations – just an honest discussion about where you are, where you want to go, and how we might work together to get you there.

Honestly, I don't think I could have written better (and I've got a masters degree in writing)!

But, what do you think? Does this Mr. Rogers-'ified' copy resonate with you? Do you feel any more compelled to explore business coaching as a valuable investment in your success?

I'd love to know.

And, if you use this hack in your own business, please share the results with me.

Until next time,

P.S. If you missed it, last week I shared Ways to Help those impacted by the LA wildfires.

Title: Discounting Discounts: Subheader: They can do more harm than good.

It's a tough time to run a small business—with many economists predicting a recession and all the uncertainty caused by the US government. We've certainly yet to see the impact of the massive federal layoffs and cuts to government programs in addition to other economic issues at play. As a result, many consumers and businesses are already tightening their purse strings and preparing to go without. In response, many of my students and clients have been floating the idea of offering discounts...

Title: Power Throuple; Subtitle: In pricing, 3 is a magic number.

Three has an almost mystical symbolism and power whether you're pondering math, music, or spirituality. Our brains just love patterns, and three is the smallest number needed to create one. It's satisfying, complete, and somehow feels "just right" to our minds. That's why it's so powerful when considering pricing strategies, as well. Here are three ways to leverage the power of 3 for your pricing: Sandwich Pricing When businesses offer three price points, something fascinating happens. The...

Frame Your Pricing; Subtitle: With these 4 little questions.

For quite some time now, I've been teaching entrepreneurs about the benefits of value pricing. (Check out Does Size Really Matter to learn why this strategy makes so much sense for small businesses.) But, I was today years old when I learned about Dutch economist Peter van Westendorp's Price Sensitivity model, which he developed in the 1970s. To determine psychologically acceptable price ranges for products or services, he created 4 research questions to ask target audiences. If you've ever...
