Money on My Mind

As Q4 quickly marches on, I want to spotlight two recent publications about money or, more specifically, money management.

Both are by savvy financial experts who also happen to be successful women entrepreneurs who truly know their stuff.

They have each volunteered their time to support my startup and growth classes for NYC's Small Business Services, and each brings their unique knowledge and voice to what is arguably a crowded field.

But, that's further reason to talk these women up.

Not only have I witnessed their ability to simplify the complexities of good fiscal management, but the way they weave their own and their clients' stories into their guidance and advice is educational, inspirational, and motivational, all at the same time.

Simple Choices Big Rewards in Money
by Ramona Cedano

Ramona is the CEO of FiBrick, a financial management firm that works with all sizes and types of small businesses, providing accounting, financial management, automation, and fractional CEO support. FiBrick also has a particular talent for supporting tech firms.

In her book, Ramona interweaves personal stories with sound and practical financial advice, guiding you to achieve financial freedom without putting limitations on your goals or lifestyle.

And, isn't that what we're all looking for, especially given the crazy economic times we're living in?

Available in both Kindle and Paperback editions.

Dancing with Numbers:
Grow a Financially Healthy Business and Choreograph the Life You Want

by Tricia Taitt

I love how this book essentially grew out of desperation on the part of small business owners struggling through the pandemic and turning to Tricia for help, hope, and a lifeline for their businesses.

Tricia is the CEO of FinCore, which provides both done-for-you and DIY financial management support, education, and tools.

I particularly love how Tricia uses her work as a professional dancer and the rehearsal process to approach good financial management. It's one of three core inspirations guiding her through what is gold for any small business owner looking to up their financial understanding and oversight to attain their goals and then some.

Available both Kindle and Paperback editions.

I'm confident you'll find both of these are savvy investments that will return dividends for years to come.

Just to be clear, I receive no financial compensation from the authors or Amazon for promoting these great books.

I truly believe they add important value during a time when we're all grappling with an economy that feels unmanageable and unsustainable for our lives and businesses.

If you've read a book lately that you think other entrepreneurs should read, please let me know. I'm always looking for resources to recommend!

Until next week, here's to your financial health and wellbeing!

Could your business use some help weathering the economy? Let's talk.

PS - In case you missed it, last week I asked, You Feeling Lucky? And, discussed how you might draw more opportunities and luck to you.

Sharing is caring. Please feel free to pass this message on.

Your success is our strategy!

Title: An Ounce of Prevention; subtitle: Can really save your bacon

Hi Reader, Last week we had the first tornado warning in Manhattan and the second in New York City that I can recall. There was horrible air quality from the Canadian wildfires as well as torrential rains with their accompanying flood warnings the week before. Right now, Spain and France are suffering devastating wildfires and heat waves. I've written before about disaster preparedness, but I really want to drive home the need to think about and plan for the potential impact of natural or...

Title: When AI Actually Works; Subtitle: It's a transformation tool

I promised I'd share some AI wins after bashing on it for the last couple of months, so here goes. An old client of mine runs a wine shop in Brooklyn. She's got some help but she's largely a one-woman show. She's been using Monday's AI features to help her analyze and manage her inventory and understand seasonal sales trends to purchase more smartly. She had to level up her investment and hire someone to help her set up the AI agents she needs but feels it's been money well-spent. Another one...

Title: When the Pope Speaks...; Subtitle: Are the right people listening?

There are lots of thoughts spinning around in my brain at any given moment. Maybe you can relate. We're kind of living in whirlwind times where information is coming at us incessantly; it's like being caught up in a tornado. There's just no way to catch your breath and really marinate on anything for too long. So here are a few things I'm trying to give a little bit more thought and attention to these days: What impact will Pope Leo's AI encyclical have on governments, tech leaders, and...
