Attraction Traction

I went to a very interesting webinar last week and I really liked the way the presenter, Jennifer Diepstraten, broke down marketing and sales into 4 key activity types:

  1. Awareness-building
  2. Influencer marketing
  3. Content marketing
  4. Selling through attraction-based marketing

Like me, you're probably aware of 1, 2, and 3. But, what about 4?

1, 2, and 3 are how you're attracting your ideal clients and establishing residency in that critical real estate in their brains where you're the go-to expert at what you do. So, when they're ready to solve their problems, you're the obvious choice to help them.

And that's pretty much what selling through attraction-based marketing is.

When you've got the right attraction marketing strategy, you don't need to sell. You're educating your prospects, supporting them, and showing them how to get the help they need when they're ready to alleviate their pain, surmount the obstacles standing in their way, and achieve their most meaningful goals.

The beauty of it is that they come to you rather than you chasing after them.

So, what are you doing to attract the right people to your business, and how's it going?

Right now is a great time to evaluate your attraction formula to build an engaged community of ideal customers eager for what you offer.

Some things to look at are your:

  • Lead magnet conversions
  • Engagement from podcast appearances, presentations, and guest blogging
  • Social media and website metrics
  • Private group/membership growth
  • Growth from influencers and joint partners
  • Overall email list growth
  • And, most importantly, sales conversion rates (the number of sales compared to the number of prospective sales)

Title: An Ounce of Prevention; subtitle: Can really save your bacon

Hi Reader, Last week we had the first tornado warning in Manhattan and the second in New York City that I can recall. There was horrible air quality from the Canadian wildfires as well as torrential rains with their accompanying flood warnings the week before. Right now, Spain and France are suffering devastating wildfires and heat waves. I've written before about disaster preparedness, but I really want to drive home the need to think about and plan for the potential impact of natural or...

Title: When AI Actually Works; Subtitle: It's a transformation tool

I promised I'd share some AI wins after bashing on it for the last couple of months, so here goes. An old client of mine runs a wine shop in Brooklyn. She's got some help but she's largely a one-woman show. She's been using Monday's AI features to help her analyze and manage her inventory and understand seasonal sales trends to purchase more smartly. She had to level up her investment and hire someone to help her set up the AI agents she needs but feels it's been money well-spent. Another one...

Title: When the Pope Speaks...; Subtitle: Are the right people listening?

There are lots of thoughts spinning around in my brain at any given moment. Maybe you can relate. We're kind of living in whirlwind times where information is coming at us incessantly; it's like being caught up in a tornado. There's just no way to catch your breath and really marinate on anything for too long. So here are a few things I'm trying to give a little bit more thought and attention to these days: What impact will Pope Leo's AI encyclical have on governments, tech leaders, and...
